SHELLIE, RUBY, YASMIN

How sweet !!!!

This is a photo of my 2 daughters Shellie and Yasmin, with their little baby sister Ruby ( born to their dad and his girlfriend Jane last year )

Shellie is 21 & Yasmin 17, Ruby a year old this November.  Wow, what an age gap between them.  Sometimes my girls have told me how they still feel strange at having a sister so much younger than themselves.  At times they have felt more like aunties, rather than sisters to her.  That's a very natural way to feel.  But however they have felt, it is very clear indeed how much they lover her and cherish her.

They talk about Ruby, and show me photo's.  They babysit her, play with her, in fact they are very proud of her, and i am so very proud of them for showing their maturity towards her.  Afterall, at their ages, they could easy just ignore her existence and carry on with their own lives.  But from what i know, and what i have seen, they couldn't be more happier to have her in their lives.

I still believe it's not nice to have brothers or sisters with different parents, and i always planned never to have my daughters in that situation themselves.  I have 6 siblings, and between us there 4 dads and 2 mums.....that i know about !!!!   It is always complicated to explain my background, but i believe it is purely because between some of us, we have very little love and respect for each other.  More hate i guess on occassions over the years.

However, with my 2 girls, they clearly have plenty of love and respect for their little sister Ruby.  They are well grounded girls, brought up by 2 parents who more than anything, loved them and cherished them the same.  This makes a world of difference.

They have also had the stability of a wonderful family, mostly from their dad's side, and i believe they have also been wonderfully embraced by Jane's family too.

Although my plans for my girls didn't quite work the way i desired, and despite a brief time of complete and utter torment through my making, they have both come through it all, and have indeed been blessed with Ruby.

It was always a wanted moment, for them to have another sibling, when me and their dad were still together, but things happen for a purpose i suppose, and it was never meant to be after i had Yasmin.

At the end of the day, they got their sibling, but just not from me.......

Really and truly, i am a little sad about that sometimes, but i am older now, and at least i don't have the pleasure of nappies and bottles, teething, walking and talking to deal with anymore !!!!!!  I am not complaining.  Instead, i just look on and enjoy the pleasure Ruby brings to my girls, and i look forward to when my girls have their own babies one day.
